Dragon*Con Attendees and Friends of the Spectral Light Guerrilla Photo Studio,

Hello, I'm interrupting your trip to the pictures to ask a favor from those of you who have used or enjoyed my services of providing free professional costume portraits at DragonCon last year or this year. At the convention this year, the director of operation, Robert Dennis, shut down my set stating falatious accusations about my setup causing lines and flow problems. I believe Mr. Dennis acted rashly and without thinking of the impact his actions would have on me and those of you expecting to have photos taken. Additionally, since I was able to work both Saturday and Sunday night in 2009, and there were no written changes to the photographic rules regarding standing sets in the DragonCon documentation, I spent a great deal of money bring my services to the convention for a second year.

I feel that since there was no notification, and Mr. Dennis acted without proper assessment of the situation, I am owed compensation for the added expenses I put out to set up the studio this year. I will be writing to the convention director, Pat Henry, shortly and would like to include a list of people who have enjoyed my services and support my ability to bring them to you again.

So, if you are so inclined, I would greatly appreciate an email to slesnik @ gmail . com in support with your name, a contact email, and the state you come from. I hope that by confronting this issue I can not only recover some of my financial loss, but pave the way for a means of providing free professional services in the future so that all of you who come to a wonderful convention with amazing costumes can truly have them appreciated and memorialized in a professional setting.

Thank you for your support, and now back to your pictures...

Stephen Lesnik
